“Work your business with determination and belief, stay focused on the target and don’t quit before payday.”
I have been blessed exceedingly, abundantly above all that I can ask, think or imagine! Before Arbonne found me, it was not a pretty sight. Prior to Arbonne, my husband and I struggled financially. We had such a mountain of debt that it seemed it would take years to get it paid off. There were many times there was too much month at the end of the money. My husband and I had always dreamed of owning our businesses, but this seemed impossible due to the situation we were in. I tell people all of the time that the products will change your skin, but the business will change your life.
I was introduced to Arbonne when I attended a skin care Presentation hosted by my sister. I had never heard of Arbonne, and to be honest I was not all that excited about attending. After trying the products and hearing about all of the wonderful benefits, I was excited to become a Client. I absolutely fell in love with the products, and how my skin felt and looked after using them. Even though I was looking for a way out of my current situation of being in serious debt, I did not recognize the Arbonne opportunity as being much more than a way to have the potential to make a little extra income.
The other misconception I had was that the only people who really made any money at this were those who were already at the top and/or those who were selling fanatics. Because of these misconceptions, I actually felt that doing this type of business was a little beneath me. After all, I had a college degree which had helped me get a good management position with excellent benefits. I was working my way up the career ladder in a health information management department in one of Oklahoma City’s largest hospitals. My future seemed to be very bright and promising. The only problem was that I was miserable. I was so tired of the 8-to -5 rat race, waking up to an alarm clock, racing out the door to face rush-hour traffic, coming home in the evening tired, and dropping on the sofa just longing for the weekend — all to start the whole thing over again come Monday morning. I wanted time freedom, freedom to be my own boss, and the opportunity to not only get out of debt, but to live the abundant life. All of these desires, combined with the fact that my husband and I were in serious financial trouble, made me stop and rethink the Arbonne opportunity.
After hearing about the opportunity, I decided to try Arbonne for about six months and then re-evaluate where I was with the business. That was my first mistake. If you are going to do this business, I recommend jumping in with both feet and making a commitment to go all the way to the top. After being in the business for a while, I began to see the big picture. ENVP Cindy Pipkin, my upline and sponsor, was great at telling me what this business could do for me and my family. I began to think “What if this does work … what if she is right?”
I will have to say that I did struggle in the beginning in regard to taking my business to the top. My belief system needed some serious work. I always believed that Arbonne worked, but the million-dollar question was, “Would it work for me?” I was constantly wavering and doubting, which caused my business to remain stagnant for years.
In January 2002, I got my second wind. I had recently attended my good friend, Misty Whitfield’s, car presentation. That night something changed on the inside of me. I realized that nothing was holding me back but myself. All that I needed to do was to step out in faith, believe in myself, and take this and run with it.
I made a decision from that moment on to work my business with commitment and determination and to have a whatever-it-takes attitude. Amazing growth began to happen after making these decisions.
If your spouse is unsupportive in the beginning, give it some time. I am blessed with the best husband in the world. While building our business, he was there to help get our son ready for school, cook dinner, do the laundry, or whatever needed to be done. He never asked me “How much money are you making?” or “Why do you have to go to that meeting?” My husband never considered it “babysitting” when he stayed home with our son while I went to do a Presentation or attend a meeting. He was encouraging me throughout the entire journey ... even when I was not making a penny!
Because of Arbonne, my husband was able to retire from his job while in his 30s and start his own business. We will soon have the potential to be completely out of debt and be able to build our dream home, which is miraculous considering that a time in our lives we were facing bankruptcy and foreclosure.
Arbonne is about giving you and your family choices in life. It is such a wonderful feeling to have financial peace, to live the abundant life, and be able to bless others out of the overflow.
In closing, are many valuable things I have learned along my Arbonne journey, which I would like to share with you. First, stay focused and stay fixed on the target. What you focus on today will determine your tomorrow. If you are faithful in the little things, you will soon find yourself taking care of bigger things. Take care of your business when it is small and one day your business will take care of you. Also, whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might. Work your business with belief and conviction, even in the face of adversity. Give it your all. Always be grateful, be grateful, be grateful! And finally, believe that you can do all things. Remember that you are empowered to prosper, and that you were created to overcome.
Then get ready for exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you ask, think, or imagine.
Thank You first and foremost to God. Without You, I can do nothing. But with You, I can do all things.
