SUCCESS STRATEGY:

“Take hold of your dreams and allow yourself to fly.”

As I sit down to write my Eye on Arbonne story, I am laughing inside! I can distinctly remember reading my first Eye on Arbonne story on a plane back to Costa Rica, and thinking, “Wow, this girl has made it.” Now, here I am, too!

What an incredible ride it has been. In the summer of 2005, my sister-in-law, ENVP Emily Alexander, approached me at our family reunion and asked me to try the NutriMinC® RE9 skin care products from Arbonne. I questioned why Emily would get involved with network marketing. She is married to my brother, a successful orthodontist and homeschools her four kids. She said she loved the products and saw Arbonne as a potentially life-changing opportunity for others. So I tried the products, and I loved them.

The Arbonne business was not of interest for me because I spend most of my time in Costa Rica where my husband, Luis, runs a five-star resort. A few weeks later, I was at Emily’s house in Texas while she was doing a small Presentation. I was not there for the Presentation; I was there to spend time with my sister-in-law. As I sat around Emily’s kitchen table, it clicked for me. Most of my friends live in the United States. I buy all my products in the states anyway, so why could I not do this business?

A few days later, I signed up as a Consultant and hit the ground running. It was a huge stumbling block to be away so much from my home base, but I had to work with the circumstances that I was dealt.

I knew I needed to build my business via the Internet and telephone. I wanted to find business builders as fast as I could and then help them build their teams. My team would then put a face on the business for me when I was away.

During my second month in the business, as I was striving for first-step qualification for Region, our home on the beach in Costa Rica was broken into while we were sleeping! My laptop computer, PDA device, cell phone and purse were all stolen. This was a huge stumbling block, considering these were the essential tools of my business.

The night of the robbery I borrowed a phone to call into a training conference call that I had arranged. I remember getting off the phone that night and thinking, there is no time to dwell on what happened; too many people need to hear about Arbonne! I ended up using an Internet café and a borrowed phone that month to talk to my team and prospects. Not only did I achieve Area Manager, but I hit my target goal of first-step Region. One month later in September, I became a Regional Vice President in just three months, thanks to my incredible team.

The ride did not stop there. During my qualification for Nation, we moved houses in Costa Rica, and I did not have Internet access again. Back to the Internet café I went. My cell phone, which I used for my business, did not work inside of our new house, so I made calls standing in the front yard under a tree. There were days when I wanted to scream. I just wanted to talk to the prospect, but I literally could not. I wanted it to be easy and it was not. My stumbling blocks seemed to get bigger and bigger, but my determination to build my team was stronger. I was not going to let things that were out of my control affect the things that were in my control. This business is about attitude. How we choose to view a situation will determine our success. In eight short months, I reached Nation and as a team, we have only just begun.

All I can say is if I can do this business, mostly from a foreign country and from an Internet café, with a dial-up connection, then you can do this business.

I bought a tower for our house, so we can now have wireless high-speed Internet access at home. When I talk to a new Consultant, and ask if they have contacted their prospects and they tell me no, I just want to say, “Pick up that phone. It is right there and you can call anyone, anywhere. Arbonne is a life-changing opportunity and you need to tell everyone.”

Some of us need the Arbonne business for financial reasons. Others need the business for personal reasons. My husband, Luis, understood the possibility of potential residual income with a respected company, so he was supportive and ready for me to start my business. I, on the other hand, wanted to join Arbonne more for personal reasons. I am so proud to be a wife and mom. I have two precious boys, Mateo and Marco. We adopted them both from Mexico. My life changed forever once I looked into my babies’ eyes! I knew that God had put me on this earth to be their mommy. They are truly gifts from God. What Arbonne has given me is a chance to put my talents to work and help others fulfill their potential. It allows me to be the mother and wife I want to be, and pursue other dreams at the same time. Arbonne is about stretching yourself, building your team and helping others.

I thank God for allowing me to use my God-given abilities. I thank Him for all of the wonderful people who have touched my life.

To Mateo and Marco: I love you so much, and I know your lives will be filled with so many more choices because of Arbonne.

And most importantly, I want to thank my husband, Luis. You are the spice of my life and you always keep me grounded. I love you with all of my heart and there is no way I could have built my business without your undivided support. Thank you for taking care of the boys and having daddy adventures when I need to go out of town. Thank you for letting me spread my wings to pursue this dream.

If your determination is bigger than any stumbling blocks in your life, then you will be successful in Arbonne. I truly believe that an opportunity like Arbonne will not pass our way again. Take hold of your dreams and allow yourself to fly.
