“Build a huge belief with an attitude of gratitude and the willingness to take action.”
Could you be looking for something: A career change, lifestyle change, health, happiness and financial security … In essence, a miracle? I was!
Only now, in retrospect, can I see how Arbonne has answered my prayers. I recently discovered a description I had written years ago of my vision of a perfect job. My heart skipped a beat when I realized it exactly matches the life I am living now as an Arbonne NVP! As a physician, I thought that my only options were in the medical field. As a teenager, that was a goal I set my sights on and achieved, but not without paying a price. I have no regrets, because I loved my work and I was able to touch many lives. I just never realized that I could, or ever would, have a career outside of medicine.
About three years ago, I first heard about Arbonne. I was invited to a few events at ENVP Leslie Sodano’s home, which I did not attend. I subsequently received an Arbonne gift from Leslie’s sister, ERVP Barbara Soriano, and loved the products. I eventually signed up as a Consultant, but only with the intention of supporting Barbara and Leslie, while buying great products at a discount.
Barbara often spoke of her sister, Leslie’s, and her niece, Christina Hayford’s, success, but I did not see Arbonne as an option for me, although I actually was looking to change my lifestyle. I was living the unbalanced life of a busy, successful pediatrician, and I wanted something new, while still working where I could make a difference.
By that time, the demands and stress of my practice had taken their toll on my energy and health, so I had to cut back on my hours. In addition, I was faced with rising overhead costs coupled with decreasing third party payments. As a result, my income had steadily decreased, but the demands and stresses had not.
There are no coincidences. In the summer of 2004, I went to Leslie Sodano’s home, where ENVP Linda Parker was holding an “Opportunity” Presentation. I think I went out of curiosity. I was intrigued by what I heard, but I had a core philosophy that was screaming, “no!” I did not believe in network marketing or the way I thought it worked. However, now I know those beliefs were not based on facts.
Back then, when Linda asked me if I was interested in the business, of course I said no. I figured she would not have asked me if she knew I was a physician, so I informed her. She let me know that physicians and other health care professionals were building Arbonne businesses. She planted a seed, and I began to open up to the idea. I decided to try all of the products, and found amazing results. I began sharing them with friends and testing the waters.
The first six months, I still did not commit myself. It was suggested that I tell people I was doing Arbonne only until the right medical job appeared. Guess what? No one will follow you until you are committed. Make the decision and do not look back!
But I did my “homework”— I attended events in Pennsylvania, where there were many amazing Arbonne leaders. I read books on the industry and listened to Arbonne Learn & Burn™ CDs. As my belief grew, I began to attract others.
My biggest obstacle was letting the Arbonne Consultant out of the closet. Despite seeing the amazing opportunity, knowing how phenomenal the products were and being completely taken with this company’s leadership and integrity, I still could not share this opportunity with those I was close to. Many of my friends, family and peers had the same beliefs about the industry as I once had. People were aghast that I would give up medicine for this!
When I decided to become a physician, I never considered quitting. I had a no-matter-what attitude. It was a marathon, and I had to be in the race. I realized I had to have that same commitment to Arbonne — to fall in love with what I was doing, and have a conviction stronger than all of the negatives I encountered. At some point, I made that leap. My commitment became visible and passionate. I realized I wanted to go to the top of the company. I needed to be the best example I could be for my team and anyone else whom I could help.
I am asked frequently to help my SuccessLine and many other crosslines to help prospect their physicians. My answer is to let these amazing products sell themselves and then build a relationship. Physicians are busy, make decent incomes and are probably going to need multiple exposures. Remember, the more people know you, like you and trust you, the less you have to say. Be patient!
As a physician, I was not duplicable. As an Arbonne Independent Consultant, I am. This wonderful company provides a simple, duplicable system that works for everyone. Build your belief! My belief has to be so big that no dreamstealers can get near it. Then, follow a successful upline with a system and you will succeed. We are in business for ourselves, but what a blessing that we can and need to do this with others!
My Arbonne journey the past two years has been one of incredible personal growth. There have been so many gifts, disguised in so many packages! The most amazing gift is working with my sister, RVP Dori Zingmond, and my dearest friend, RVP Melissa Brown, M.D., whom I have known since medical school. Already, I have been given so much more than I could ever imagine.
I can only do this business successfully by being of service. My intention is to do that in all areas of my life and let go of the results. We have extraordinary women on our team, who are in my life because of this business. I learn so much from my crossline and upline, and at all of the Arbonne events I attend. I love the people I meet while prospecting at Presentations and meetings. Every retreat and training, as well as the inspirational books and CDs, have been such a joy. My greatest challenge has been letting go of “Dr. Fran” and learning to lead by example, although just a novice myself!
I have also been through one of the most difficult personal times in my life while on my journey from RVP to NVP. I have been helped by the gift of flexibility and time leveraging Arbonne has given me — which is almost impossible to get with a medical practice or most independent businesses.
Today, I cannot imagine why everyone is not jumping on this opportunity. The business does not require large overhead — no loans, no added rent or mortgage, no employees or equipment, no special insurance, no politics. You have nothing to lose and more than you can imagine to gain. You will discover the potential for financial security, freedom to choose your lifestyle, amazing relationships and personal development.
Although my team is only the second Nation in New Jersey, we will be putting Arbonne on the map soon. Our amazing team here and in Southwest Florida with my sister, Dori cannot be stopped.
To RVP Melissa Brown: Thank you for making this journey so much fun and keeping me on track. You are an inspiration to us all. It sure beats running to the delivery room in the middle of the night! I love you so much.
To RVP Dori Zingmond: I can never see too much of you and your son, Cooper. You continually amaze me with your commitment, your leadership and your competence at this. I really did sponsor up!
To AMs, Gina Sogluizzo, Louisa Kazazian, Kathy Abruzzo, Tracey Gamba, Susie Cicchino, Barbara Freedgood and Louise Bernardon: You have carried me through this past year with your passion, dedication, caring and fun-loving spirits. I am so proud of you! There will be lots of Mercedes-Benz car presentations this year!
To DMs, Sema Cicitta, Aliyana Wasserman and Jamie Kostenko: I am so thrilled to be able to walk with you to the top!
To all the DMs, Consultants and Clients in our Nation: Thank you. You are so important to me.
To my greatest gift — my son, Adam: I love you and am so proud of you!
To my parents, Judy and Win Adler, for all their support and love: You are both such glorious examples of giving, and living life to its fullest.
Thank you to my sponsor, ERVP Barbara Soriano, for this gift. To her sister and my upline, ENVP Leslie Sodano: Thank you again for bringing Arbonne to northern New Jersey and always being available for everyone. To their niece, ENVP Christina Hayford: I appreciate how well you modeled meetings and retreats, so we could learn how to pass this on from the best.
My gratitude to ENVP Linda Parker is really immeasurable. You planted the seed that I could do this, and then nurtured it and watered it with your amazing vision and training.
To ENVP Cecilia Stoll: You are truly a role model. I always ask myself, what would Cecilia do here? I hope to someday know the answers!
To President Rita Davenport, who is an inspiration: I always knew women could be successful with integrity in a man’s world. What an example you set. Rita, I am putting on the best show I can!
When Chairman & CEO Bob Henry told me he was a Yankee fan at ACTnow Louisville, he completely won me over. I have since seen what an honor it is to have him as our Chairman & CEO. I am truly grateful to everyone I have had contact with at the Arbonne Home Office.
I challenge you to decide what you want your life to look like. Only you can do that. Claim it, and then let Arbonne equal your dreams. Take the first step and keep climbing. Do not quit before the miracle happens!
